Riders and Order Recipients
When you use FoodLover, you trust us with your personal data. We're committed to keeping that trust. That starts with helping you understand our privacy practices.
Scope
This notice applies when you use FoodLover's apps or websites to request or receive products or services, including rides or deliveries.
I. Overview
This notice describes how we collect and use your data if you request or receive products or services through FoodLover's apps or websites. This notice specifically applies if you receive services through FoodLover's apps or websites requested by others (a "Guest User").
Scope of Application
- Riders: Individuals who request or receive transportation.
- Order Recipients: Individuals who request or receive food, packages, or other products/services.
- Guest Users: Individuals who receive services requested by other account owners.
II. Data collections and uses
A. The data we collect
- User profile: We collect data when you create or update your FoodLover account. This includes your name, email, phone number, login name and password, address, profile picture, payment or banking information (including related payment verification information), driver’s license and other government identification documents.
- Background check information: We collect background check information if you sign up to use FoodLover’s services as a driver or delivery person. This may include information such as your driver history or criminal record (where permitted by law).
- Identity verification photos: This includes photos of users (such as, selfies) and/or their government issued identification documents (such as, driver’s license or passport).
- Demographic data: We may collect demographic data about users, such as date of birth, gender, occupation, etc.
- Location data: We collect precise or approximate location data from your mobile device if you enable us to do so. FoodLover collects this data when the FoodLover app is running in the foreground (app open and on-screen) or background (app open but not on-screen) of your mobile device.
- Transaction information: We collect transaction information related to the use of our services, including the type of services requested or provided, order details, delivery information, date and time the service was provided, amount charged, distance traveled, and payment method.
- Usage data: We collect data about how users interact with our services. This includes data such as access dates and times, app features or pages viewed, app crashes and other system activity, type of browser, and third-party sites or services used before interacting with our services.
- Device data: We may collect data about the devices used to access our services, including the hardware models, device IP address, operating systems and versions, software, preferred languages, unique device identifiers, advertising identifiers, serial numbers, device motion data, and mobile network data.
B. How we use personal data
FoodLover uses data to enable reliable and convenient products and services. We also use data:
- To provide our servicesFoodLover uses data to provide, personalize, maintain, and improve our products and services. This includes using data to create and update accounts, verify identity, process payments, and track the progress of rides or deliveries.
- Safety and securityWe use data to help maintain the safety, security, and integrity of our services and users. This includes screening riders, drivers, and delivery people; using device data to identify unsafe driving behavior; and using information from user devices to identify potentially fraudulent activity.
- Customer supportFoodLover uses the information we collect (which may include call recordings) to provide customer support, including to investigate and address user concerns and to monitor and improve our customer support responses and processes.
- Research and developmentWe may use the data we collect for testing, research, analysis, product development, and machine learning to improve the user experience.
- MarketingFoodLover may use the data we collect to market our services to our users. This includes sending users communications about FoodLover services, features, promotions, sweepstakes, studies, surveys, news, updates, and events.
III. Data sharing and disclosure
Some of FoodLover's products, services, and features require that we share data with other users or at a user’s request. We may also share data with our affiliates, subsidiaries, and partners, for legal reasons or in connection with claims or disputes.
With other users
This includes sharing your first name, rating, and pickup/drop-off locations with drivers; sharing your first name, delivery address, and order details with the restaurant or merchant and delivery person.
At your request
This includes sharing data with other people at your request, or with third-party business partners/apps when you integrate your FoodLover account with them.
For legal reasons
We may share your personal data if we believe it's required by applicable law, regulation, operating license or agreement, legal process or governmental request, or where the disclosure is otherwise appropriate due to safety or similar concerns.
IV. Data retention and deletion
FoodLover retains user data for as long as necessary for the purposes described above. This means that we retain different categories of data for different periods of time depending on the category of user to whom the data relates, the type of data, and the purposes for which we collected the data.
Users may request deletion of their accounts at any time. FoodLover may retain user data after a deletion request due to legal or regulatory requirements or for the reasons stated in this policy.
V. Choice and transparency
FoodLover enables you to access and control the data that used. You can access your data settings in the "Privacy" menu of the FoodLover app.
Device permissions
Most mobile platforms (iOS, Android, etc.) have defined certain types of device data that apps cannot access without your consent. And these platforms have different permission systems for obtaining your consent.
Ratings
After every trip, riders and drivers are able to rate each other, as well as give feedback on how the trip went. This two-way system holds everyone accountable for their behavior.
Marketing opt-outs
You may opt out of receiving promotional emails from FoodLover here. You may also opt out of receiving emails and other messages from FoodLover by following the instructions in those messages.
VI. Legal information
This notice may be updated occasionally. We will notify you of significant changes through our apps or through other means, such as email. To the extent permitted under applicable law, by using our services after such notice, you consent to our updates to this notice.
